Nepal 1 TV scandal
YCL wants to stir up the FDI issue, Prachanda says no
Dhamala exercising to attenuate the strike

The BlogGossip Corner
Kathmandu, Aprill 22

Newspersons and other staff of the Nepal 1 TV have locked up the new office building of the television channel in Kathmandu. The Nepal 1 TV is owned by an Indian national Nalini Singh. The television channel based on New Delhi is illegally operating in Nepal for four years.

Though the management succeeded to abort similar movement last year, the Nepal 1 employees (Nepalis only) in Kathmandu finally resorted to strike this time, alleging the management for harassment and demanding editorial freedom and job security.

Before putting an end to all journalistic official activities in the Kamaladi office, a team led by Badri Sigdel met the Speaker of the Parliament and the Information and Communication Minister, and informed them about their strike. The team has urged the government for making clear the legal status of the television.

Reportedly, one of the team leaders met some central leaders of the CPN-Maoists today and asked for help. He is believed to have asked for the YCL stirring up the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) issue.

According to the BlogGossip Corner source, Nalini Singh, on the otherhand, has thrown her trump; she sent Rishi Dhamala to Prachanda and Sujata. It has been claimed that Prachanda has been “enlightened” by the “number one reporter” of Nepal about the “political and strategical loss” that the Maoists may bear if they speak anything against India and Indian Investement in Nepal at this “critical time”. It is believed that Prachanda has ordered the YCL to keep mum despite its interest in the issue. Albeit, Mr. Mahara, the Minister of Information and Communication is said to be serious about the legal status of the television channel that is illegally operating in the coutnry for four years.

Meanwhile, a Nepal 1 TV source claimed that rather than the case of editorial freedom and job security the apple of dicord is harrassement and nepotism. “Nalini Singh uses abusive words to Nepali employees,” she said. “For Nalini only Rishi Dhamala is important.”

Lately it has been learnt that Nalini Singh is arriving Kathmandu Monday evening. Among a few persons she will meet first are said to be Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Sujata Koirala and Rishi Dhamala.

Also, it has been learnt that the management is trying to offer “advantage” to Badri Sigdel and Raj Kumar Regmi to attenuate the movement.

Despite the strike in Kathmandu, the Nepal 1 is being aired from Delhi. The strikers have reportedly threatened the freelances who are cashing in on the strike and reporting for the television from Kathmandu.

Dear Madam,

Like the other days, all the journalists of news, entertainment and marketing department of Nepal 1 Television came office in time for regular work on Thursday. But, when we were about to go for news reporting, the operation manager of Nepal 1 Television Mr. Sushant Jha informed the order of the managing director of the television Mrs. Nalini Singh not to send any body for work and to pack up the things from Thursday. Then after, we became unable to go for work. We have padlocked the office since Thursday to have fulfilled our demand as the managing director of Nepal 1 Television paid no attention to provide the necessary basic facilities to the staff. These Indian whoo came to Nepal think that they can doanything. But if they are professional why do they come to Kathmandu? Do they get more money from ad, dotheyget better salary in Kathmandu?
Then why do they come to kathmandu? The only possible reason is and I am sure it is the only reason, that they are here to spy and collect information on Nepal and Nepalese officers, in different government ministries, so they can be manipulated and India can always make them sign the wrong treaties like Koshi, Gandaki and Mahakali.
One Indian journalist in Delhi earns more than an editor in nepal, then why do Indian journalists came to Kathmandu? If they are not RAW agents or working for security agencies in India, how can they manage with a little money they get here.
Similar is the case of Nepal one and APCA, what benefit will they get from small Nepali ad market? But how the cheap newspaper and nepal one is running? Why are they so generous to Nepal?
India has more than 200 cror poors and the population is 2 cror+. How do one justify?
My friend always says it love, Indians love Nepal so much so that they want to eat it like apple, or may be mango chos chos ke beta, Lage raho Munnabhai.
By the way there is another movie not a single Indian like to talk about, Hatrick, Paresh Rawal plays a true double standard Indian, watch it, its fun or read APCA's newspapers its also fun,
The condition of Nepal one staff and APCA staff is no different, either way Indian think they are God, but they are as british used to say dog.
Dogs and Indian should not be allowed, if one need peace in any country in the world.

Roshan jee,
I don't completely agree with you. Career journalists work wherever they are paid more. It's natural.

Even i have worked outside Nepal for some months because I was paid much.

There is some truth in what you said about the interest of the investors. All journalists are not spy.

But thanks for your comment.

Don't blame the messenger in this case. Its the SPAM that is at fault. They bend their knee to India and sell this country down the river for their vested interest and power- in return India exercises it options to take advantages- nothing wrong. Blame where it is due.

Pranchade knows to play his card well- just by the fact he and his goons not have stoked fury agaisnt Nepal 1 is proof enough that he is a lackey for India as well.

To all patriots-dicard false bravado, see the light before its too late and work to save what is rightfully ours- not borrowed, planted, or just copied (ideas, politics, economy and social values). Lets find pride in what we are & who we are- a Nepali that has its own unique history, culture and life based on Panchasil darshan.

SPAM has made all of us hang our head in shame. Just walk into any international airport, they treat us like a dirt, unnecessarily question and delay, and finally insult to injury- perceive us as commie of worst kind (baby killers-maoist).
